Burnout and Lack of Confidence - We Are Afraid that After Change We Will End Up Back in the Same Situation All Over Again

Burnout and lack of confidence are often closely connected. This uncertainty in moving forward is a subtle and pervasive attitude to have if we want to beat burnout. We're afraid that no matter what we do, we'll most likely end up right back where we were before.

Another reason we put off taking the steps to beat burnout is that we don't know how to go about it to make it last.

We may have done something about it in the past. We may have taken steps to reduce the stress that we were feeling only to find that in a short period of time we were right back doing the same old things again. In other words, it didn't work the last time, so why should I try it again?

We need a plan to make sure it works. We need the confidence to know that it will work.

Are you beginning to see that there are so many reasons that hold us back from taking steps to beat burnout? Let me give you just a few more. And why am I doing this? Because you need to understand that many times we have very good reasons for not doing something, and we can make fine sounding arguments for not moving forward.

We can justify almost any behavior to ourselves under the right circumstances. And that may be the very barrier that stops us from getting the help in making the changes that are needed in our life.
