Gary Wood, Christian Executive Coach

Executive Coach Gary Wood, was born and raised on Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario, Canada.

In the early seventies he and his wife, Alice, left careers in Toronto and moved to the beautiful lake region of Muskoka, Ontario to partner in planting a church and work "behind the scenes" at a rapidly expanding youth and family camp ministry.

An entrepreneur, over the next 15 years, Gary started and was President of two businesses as well as a period of time working in real estate sales.

In the late eighties Gary assumed the position of Executive Director in the same organization they had served every behind-the-scenes role in for 15 years. He and Alice 'parked' business and took over full-time leadership of the organization. They continued to serve in this faith ministry for a further ten years.

This was a concentrated time of personal involvement with about 360 volunteers, 40 or so key leaders and all the churches and people they represented.

Personal, church and professional circumstances that unfolded during those two and a half decades made it an intense time of personal challenge, demand and often overload while in the midst of tremendous excitement, organizational success and the thrill of seeing lives changed.

Over 25 years of involvement, Gary was a Bible teacher in addition to creating and leading various seminars, workshops and retreats for personal and leadership growth. He actively held every board position there is.

Still a frequent Bible teacher, speaker and trainer, Gary Wood understands the practical everyday dynamics of businesses, non-profits and boards. He continues to have a particular desire to assist those who lead them.

Early in 1998 - with a commitment to raising up and training new leadership to reach the next generation - Gary and Alice mentored and passed leadership to two younger couples.

Gary’s varied and extensive experience with businesses, nonprofits and thousands of people, as well as his personal depth of life experience provided the stepping stone to continue to work with and serve people.

Gary studied as both a life coach and corporate coach and became Executive Coach at G.E. Wood and Associates which he founded in 1998 and has led ever since.

In 1998, Judy Santos founded Christian Coaches Network, an international association of professional coaches. Gary was asked to serve in an advisory role for the organization. He actively served on the Advisory Board until February of 2010, when he took over as President and Director from Judy.

He continues as Executive Coach at G.E.Wood and Associates and Director of Christian Coaches Network.

Gary enjoys walking anywhere there is countryside and water. Gary and Alice's life is made rich by two wonderful adult children, son Tim, daughter Sandi, and their families.
